On June 30, Dr. Oliver Marchand, Global Head of ESG Research and Models at MSCI and six other colleagues from MSCI’s Zurich Climate Risk Center visited the Budapest office for the opening ceremony of the newly established Budapest Climate Risk Center. In his opening speech, Oliver highlighted three reasons to celebrate:

  1. The Budapest Climate Risk Center will allow our Climate Risk Researchers and supporting functions to deliver cutting-edge solutions for our clients. This space was designed to enhance the collaboration between teams working on our Climate products.
  2. MSCI’s recent launch of Total Portfolio Footprinting, which has been an product of the cross-functional collaboration between the Climate Risk Center and many other teams.
  3. MSCI’s Implied Temperature Rise model winning the ‘ESG Assessment Tool of the Year’ by Environmental Finance.

Up until now the Climate Risk Center (CRC) primarily existed in our Zurich office, but the team is expanding to other locations. We are looking for sharp, passionate people, ready to make a difference to join our Budapest Climate Risk Center. Apply now to any of the roles listed below if you’re interested in joining the CRC in Budapest:

Climate Risk Center

The Climate Risk Center is building cutting-edge software to identify and analyze the impacts of climate change on publicly traded companies. It’s our goal to alert investors of the climate risk profiles of these companies and to tackle climate change at the roots.

“When the Climate Risk Center started, the concept of climate risk evaluation was just an abstract idea. But today, for people working in sustainability, climate risk evaluation is a very normal term – we’ve created a world standard for measuring climate risk. We’re already working with the biggest investors on the planet, and in ten years, we’ll be amazed with what we’ve achieved. But the path we’ve taken doesn’t end here: join us, and the potential you’ll have to make a difference will be unlimited.”
